Foam Rolling and Band Exercises for Hiking and Backpacking (REI Tucson)
Learn how to appropriately use a foam roller, stretch, and perform basic band exercises for injury prevention for hiking and backpacking. You’ll practice foam rolling, stretching, and band exercises in a small group setting with real time feedback from a Physical Therapist and Coach. We’ll cover what these techniques do, how it helps with injury prevention, and when and how often to perform them.
Provided: foam rollers, exercise bands
Please bring: exercise mat or towel, water
Exercise requirements: ability to get on and off the floor several times during class

Carrie Rucker, PT, DPT, is a Physical Therapist and Coach who offers Wilderness & Wellness Experiences and Coaching. Her background in healthcare, exercise physiology, coaching, and meditation training offers a unique perspective and approach for health, wellness, and outdoor adventures. She enjoys exploring the trails via long distance hiking and backpacking trips.
